BLINDEYE: Sins of the Past

The Bay Area has the revolutionary spirit running deep within its veins. As the birthplace of the Black Panther Party & many other progressive movements; it is important for me as an artist to make sure that history and those ideas do not get lost in the passing of time.

ARTIST STATEMENT:
“From the inception of this country, deceit and corruption have been the way to acquire power. In the present day, this still stands true. The Black Panthers used the constitution in the way it was meant to be used. Protect your community from totalitarian rulers by arming yourself; both literally and figuratively with knowledge. It was dismantled by the very government that claims to protect us- by way of deceit and betrayal. “They” turned those that were members/family/friends of the party into agents of demise for the liberation of Black People.
Society continues to TURN A BLIND EYE to the tactics of The Establishment. I believe nonviolence will never be the solution to beating an opponent that will kill both your physical body and the ideas that you stood for. A martyr dies in vain if the injustices they died for continue to happen uncontested.

We will no longer turn a blind eye.
The Vision Will be Realized.”
